Ukrainian army downs russian $7m drone Forpost, seven Orlans

On Monday, May 2, the Armed Forces of Ukraine shot down eight air targets: one russian drone Forpost and seven Orlan-10, reported the Command of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"During the day on May 2, the occupiers' manned aircraft did not enter within the range of the Ukrainian air defense. Instead, the enemy continues missile strikes and increases the presence of unmanned aerial vehicles in Ukrainian airspace that give artillery targets, carry out air surveillance and fire adjustment," says the report.

Forpost shot down by the SAM unit of the Air Command South is an expensive device valued at 7 million dollars.

"It is a license-produced version of the Israeli IAI Searcher II drone. According to the occupiers' ministry of defense, in 2019, all spare parts of this UAV underwent import substitution. It had Russian software installed, and it could carry weapons - a container with an ATGM missile. As you guessed, "it has no competition," says the report.

On April 29, the Armed Forces of Ukraine shot down a Su-25 and nine Orlan-10 drones.
