UEFA bars all russian teams from participating in 2022-2023 season

There will be no russian teams in the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, UEFA Europa Conference League, UEFA Women's Champions League, and UEFA Youth League.

The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) decided to ban russian clubs participate in the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League in the 2022-2023 season, informed the press office of the UEFA.

“Russia will have no clubs participating in UEFA club competitions in the 2022/23 season," says the statement.

Thus, there will be no russian teams, participating in the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, UEFA Europa Conference League, UEFA Women's Champions League, and UEFA Youth League.

The UEFA and the FIFA resolutions of 28 February 2022 barred russian clubs and national teams from participating because of russia’s military invasion of Ukraine.

Earlier, on 28 February 2022, the FIFA and the UEFA expelled the russian national football team from all tournaments.

On 25 February 2022 the UEFA Executive Committee voted for relocation of this final of the UEFA Champions League from Saint Petersburgh to Paris as a punishment for the rf invasion of Ukraine.
