Russian occupation forces are suffering great losses in Ukraine, so the country is about to announce general mobilization.
The Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence Commander Kyrylo Budanov said that in his interview for "NV".
"The losses that they have suffered during this time have quite a significant impact on them. Russia has already turned to hidden mobilization and is about to announce it openly. I really wonder: how are they going to explain this to their own people? Why would russia with its, as they claim, first or second-best army in the world need mobilization if, according to their official statements, everything is going as planned and Ukraine as a war machine is nothing?" – he mentioned.
Budanov suggested that mobilization would be carried out under the excuse that russia is fighting "not against Ukraine, but the Anglo-Saxon world".
"That's the paradigm in which they will explain that to russian society," – he explained.
The head of the Ukrainian intelligence noted that russians are preparing to announce general mobilization by 9 May but they clearly don't have time to do it by this date.
"Yes, they are preparing. Rosrezerv [russian federal agency for state reserves – tr.] has now started checking what they really have present and calculating what they can provide concerning mobilization orders. It's an absolutely essential step before the start of real mobilization… This [mobilization announcement by 9 May – ed.] – is their goal but it will not happen, they don't have time. There's no way for them to do it in time," – Budanov mentioned.
Currently, among the mobilization "achievements" in the rf are mass refusals as well as cases of self-injuries and hiding from recruitment interviews.
