Estonia wants to withdraw signatures on land and maritime boundary agreement with russia, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

The corresponding proposal of the government will be considered today, May 3, by the Estonian Parliament.

"After the end of the occupation and the restoration of independence, the territory of Estonia and the de jure land border on the basis of succession are to be restored as provided in the Tartu Peace Treaty," the explanatory note said.

Estonia and Russia do not have a legal border. The two countries signed the border agreement in 2005 after negotiations that had lasted more than 10 years. However, during its ratification, the Estonian side included in the preamble a reference to the validity of the Tartu Peace Treaty of 1920, on the basis of which the pre-war border was defined.

Estonian Ambassador to Ukraine Kaimo Kuusk stated that russia is threatening Estonia and has military plans against this state.

Bulgaria and Estonia have banned russian-flagged vessels from entering their ports within expanded EU sanctions.
