Evacuations from the Luhansk region will be resumed after the Ukrainian military clears Bilohorivka of the occupants who have invaded its territory.

That was reported by the Head of the Luhansk RMA Serhiy Hayday.

According to him, Ukrainian troops are now mopping up the territory of Bilohorivka, where the occupants crossed the river because of the pontoon crossing.

“As soon as all the “outsiders” are removed, rescuers will be able to begin removing rubble from the school and the neighboring village of Shypilove, where 11 residents are trapped in the basement of a private home, we hope that they will be able to wait,” he stated.

He also stressed that the military in Popasna are holding their defenses at newly fortified positions, and soon the situation should change to our side. In Rubizhne, the enemy constantly suffers losses, and the Ukrainian Armed Forces have consolidated their positions in Voyevodivka near Severodonetsk.

“More than 40 thousand people still remain in the unoccupied Luhansk region. Evacuation will be resumed after Bilohorivka is mopped up,” Hayday added.

Earlier, it was reported that the pontoon crossing that russian troops built on May 8 across the Siversky Donets near Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region was destroyed.

As of May 9, the most active battles in the Luhansk region are taking place near Rubizhne, Bilohorivka, and on the Lysychansk-Bakhmut highway.

On May 8, the UAF retreated from Popasna, Luhansk region. The soldiers took positions prepared in advance.

The May 7 airstrike on a school in Bilohorivka, the Luhansk region, killed all 60 people who remain under the rubble, according to preliminary reports.
