The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the state leadership are working to find ways to evacuate civilians from Azovstal and are working on the application of the "extraction" procedure for wounded soldiers, medics and the military, including help of the world community.

This is said in the statement of the Ukrainian National Guard.

At the moment, evacuations are needed by the Azov Armed Forces, the 12th Brigade of the Ukrainian National Guard, the 36th Separate Marine Brigade, border guards, police, volunteers, and the Mariupol Territorial Defense.

Evacuation is an extremely difficult process, from the establishment of a silence regime to the need to dismantle the blockages, said the National Guard. It is not possible to disclose more information about actions and plans under martial law.

"We will continue to seek solutions and do everything possible to save the lives of military and civilians, to deter the enemy and to properly fulfill the constitutional duty to protect the state," is said in the statement.

The "extraction" procedure involves the movement of personnel from the territory under enemy control and delivery to a safe area.

The deputy commander of the Azov regiment Svyatoslav Palamar declared that as a result of attacks by occupiers of the Azovstal plant at night on May 10 there are seriously wounded.

Advising the head of the President's Office Mykhailo Podolyak, commenting on the press conference of Azov fighters, noted that if there was at least one possibility of unblocking Mariupol by military means, it would be used by the leadership of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
