British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace believes that the russian command, like russian President Vladimir Putin, is responsible for war crimes during the large-scale invasion on Ukraine, which can be compared to the actions of the Nazi regime during World War II.

Wallace made this statement during a speech at the National Army Museum in London, Radio Liberty reports.

The head of the British Ministry of Defense stressed that the russian president and command will face the same fate as the defeated Nazis and appear before the Nuremberg tribunal.

“Putin, his inner circle and generals are now mirroring the fascism and tyranny of 70 years ago, repeating the errors of last century's totalitarian regimes. Their fate must also, surely, eventually be the same”, said the British minister.

According to Wallace, Putin "stole" the history of the russian people's struggle against Nazism for his own political ends.

“All professional soldiers should be appalled at the behavior of the russian army”, he said.

The British Minister of Defense noted that Putin has been telling nonsense about NATO and the West for months and even years and believes in his fabrications. He called such behavior of the President of the russian Federation a sign of despair.

“It would be ridiculous if it weren't so tragic”, the BBC quoted Wallace as saying.
