In his turn, Andrzej Duda noted that it would be symbolic to sign such an agreement between Ukraine and Poland by January 2023 - then the 160th anniversary of the beginning of the January Uprising will be marked, when Polish and Ukrainians together fought against the russian empire's domination.
"It's hard for me now to say whether it's possible to process the new decisions but I'm convinced of one thing: we are now in an utterly different situation and this situation creates a new picture. First of all, it creates a new perspective," – he stressed.
Poland's President suggested that the two states' heads together with experts prepare such an agreement that would accelerate the implementation of new prospects and open opportunities.

In the near future, Ukraine and Poland are to sign a bilateral agreement regarding joint border and customs control, and later the joint open border when Ukraine becomes an EU member.
