Finland will financially support educational reform in Ukraine. It will also help with the reconstruction of our state after the war.
This was announced by the head of the Cabinet of Ministers Denis Shmygal, following a meeting with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Finland Sanna Marin.
Thus, the heads of government signed an agreement that will extend the project “Finnish support for the reform of the Ukrainian school” until 2023. Finland allocates up to 6 million euros for its needs. Another 2 million will come from the EU.
Finland will also join the reconstruction of Ukraine's infrastructure and the reconstruction of Ukrainian cities and towns.
“We expect to start concrete projects shortly to be ready to start work as soon as possible,” Shmygal said.
The Prime Ministers of the two countries agreed on close cooperation, which includes assistance to Ukraine in implementing reforms on the path to EU membership.
According to the Finnish Prime Minister, Ukraine is already a member of the European family. Therefore, Finland with the EU together will support our country at every stage of accession to the union.
