Stands with Ukrainian books have appeared in the largest libraries in Austria, Latvia, France and the Netherlands. In the process of opening - a stand in Greece, reported the President's website.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs implements the Ukrainian Bookshelf project, together with the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy and the Ukrainian Book Institute, under the patronage of the First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska.

In particular, the Pompidou Center in France received about 40 books published in Ukraine in English and French on our country's culture, nature, and art.

Visitors to the National Library of Austria can get acquainted with the works of Taras Shevchenko, Ivan Kotlyarevsky and Lina Kostenko in the original and in translation, and literature on the history of Ukraine.

The Riga Central Library has received collections of poems by Ukrainian poets, including Lesia Ukrainka and Serhiy Loyko's book The Airport.

Works by Serhiy Zhadan, Kateryna Babkina, Yuriy Andrukhovych, Andriy Kurkov, and Taras Shevchenko's Testament in Modern Greek are available at the National Library of Greece.

Children's books by A-BA-BA-GA-LA-MA-GA (leading Ukrainian children's books publisher - translator's note) have appeared in the Central Library of The Hague in the Netherlands.

The project was planned before the war and was to start in March to disseminate Ukrainian literature in the original and in translation in the world's leading countries. Its implementation began a month later.

According to the project's initiators, now its goal is to protect Ukrainian culture from Russian aggression.

Ukraine created a council for withdrawal of the russian books from libraries. Russian and soviet literature will be replaced by Ukrainian-language books and books from Ukrainian publishers.
