Russian troops are gradually advancing to Slovyansk - ISW

Russian troops continue to gradually seize the territory of Severodonetsk in the Luhansk region, but the city has not yet been completely surrounded.

This was reported by the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

The occupiers concentrated on regrouping near Izyum to resume the offensive on Slovyansk and Barvinkove and carried out only minor unsuccessful attacks.

Russian troops are gradually advancing on Slovyansk and intend to storm the city in the coming weeks but are unlikely to achieve decisive success.

Russian forces in Kharkiv continue to focus their efforts on preventing a Ukrainian counteroffensive on the international border between Kharkiv and Belgorod. In recent days, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have not conducted any significant operations in this area.

The limited Ukrainian counterattack in the north of the Kherson region has not advanced in the last 48 hours but has disrupted russian operations. The enemy carried out several unsuccessful attacks on the Ukrainian bridgehead on the east bank of the Ingulets river.

"Increasing casualties among Russian junior officers will further worsen russia's command's fighting spirit and capabilities," the statement said.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that russians sent the Dugon landing craft and two Raptor anti-sabotage boats to the island to maintain the enemy's presence on the Snake Island.
