The sixth package of sanctions against russia will not ban russians from buying real estate in Europe.
The "Mirror Weekly" reported this with reference to Bloomberg, which refers to its own sources.
The ban on russians from buying real estate in the EU was removed from the previous version of the document's text due to the committed position of Cyprus.
The media mentions that at the beginning of May, the European Union suggested banning real estate dealings within the union with citizens, residents, and legal entities of the rf.
"Sanctions were to apply to russians who are not EU citizens and do not have a residence permit in the union. However, the ban did not apply to those who have citizenship or a residence permit to live in the European Economic Area or Switzerland," - reads the statement.
In April, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the people and politicians of Cyprus, saying that the republic has extremely powerful tools to influence russian society and a unique force that could serve peace.
