French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna has called for a transparent investigation into the death of French journalist Frédéric Leclerc-Imhoff in the Luhansk region. She stated this on BFM TV, where the deceased journalist worked.
According to Catherine Colonna, the investigation will be conducted by Ukrainian law enforcement, but the French Foreign Ministry will monitor it.
"The murdered journalist was doing his job," she said.
On May 30, the russian military fired on a car traveling to pick up people from the Luhansk region. French journalist Frédéric Leclerc-Imhoffwas killed in the shelling.
French President Emmanuel Macron said the journalist was in Ukraine to cover the realities of the war.
In an evening address on May 30, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his condolences to the family of the deceased journalist and added that Frédéric Leclerc-Imhoff became the 32nd media person who died after February 24.
