In Mariupol, there is a rising tendency for backyard burials and the preparation of new graves, reports the advisor to the mayor, Petro Andryushchenko/

"Every day, new graves appear in makeshift cemeteries. The causes of death are unknown, but they are non-violent," Andryushchenko said.

He added that there was no official data on the city's level and causes of death.

As for the situation with cholera, according to Andryushchenko, "the occupiers have neither the equipment nor the reagents to conduct appropriate tests."

"The occupying power assures that the situation is under control. However, the only underlying factor is that nothing is being done. No preventive actions. The only thing is that the occupiers have finally acknowledged the problem with the reburial of the dead buried in the yards of the high-rise buildings," said the advisor.

He added that most reburials take place in Mangush's mass grave. To do this, the victims' relatives must spend 8 to 10 days "in the bureaucratic hell of the so-called Donetsk People's Republic and their funeral service. At the same time, there is no investigation into the cause of death."

Recently, the mayor of Mariupol, Vadim Boychenko, declared that "cholera, dysentery and other infectious diseases already circulate in Mariupol." Despite publicly denying cholera cases, the occupiers are urgently preparing to launch an infectious disease ward in the city emergency clinic.
