Since the beginning of the week, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have released more than 20 settlements temporarily occupied by the Russians in Kharkiv Region, Brig Gen Oleksiy Hromov, deputy head of the Main Operative Directorate of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff, has said at an online briefing.
According to him, as part of the defensive operation in the Kharkiv direction in order to recover the lost territories, the Ukrainian Armed Forces in cooperation with units of the National Guard and other security agencies have been active in certain areas since the beginning of the week.
"At present, military units have cut into the enemy defence up to 50 km deep. Filtration activities are continuing in a number of settlements. More than 20 settlements have been released in the course of active operations in the Kharkiv direction," Hromov said.
