Air defence shoots down four out of five missiles flying towards Zaporizhzhya, Dnipropetrovsk Region

Ukraine's air defence has shot down missiles that Russia fired at Zaporizhzhya and neighbouring cities, the head of the Zaporizhzhya regional military administration, Oleksandr Starukh, has said.

"Today, air defence neutralised missiles that were launched in the direction of Zaporizhzhya and two neighbouring large cities. Thanks to our defenders, at least two missiles did not reach each city," said Starukh.

According to the head of Dnipropetrovsk regional military administration, Valentyn Reznichenko, servicemen from the Air Command East shot down three enemy missiles over Dnipropetrovsk Region.

"Two over Synelnykove District and one over Kryvyi Ryh District," Reznichenko added.

According to the Air Command East, Russia used five Kh-59 guided missiles from Su-35 to target facilities in Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhya regions.

"Units of the Dnipro anti-aircraft missile brigade and the Nikopol anti-aircraft missile regiment neutralized four of them: one missile was shot down in Zaporizhzhya Region, one in Kryvyy Rih District, two more missiles were destroyed near Synelnykove," it noted.
