According to British intelligence, more than half of the Ukrainian tank fleet consists of vehicles captured from the Russians, the British Ministry of Defence said.
“Ukraine has likely captured at least 440 Russian Main Battle Tanks, and around 650 other armoured vehicles since the invasion. Over half of Ukraine’s currently fielded tank fleet potentially consists of captured vehicles,” the message reads.
British intelligence is certain that the inability of the Russians to destroy the undamaged equipment before withdrawing or surrendering indicates the poor state of their training and low level of combat discipline.
“With Russian formations under severe strain in several sectors and increasingly demoralised troops, Russia will likely continue to lose heavy weaponry,” the British Ministry of Defence predicts.
