Russians have completely de-energized the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, Ukraine's national atomic energy company Energoatom has said.
"Tonight at 00:59, due to another shelling by Russian troops, the last 750 kV line of communication with the power system, ZNPP – Dniprovska, was damaged and disconnected. As a result, the Zaporizhzhya NPP has been completely de-energized. Diesel generators were switched on automatically," it explained.
Energoatom added that the available reserves of diesel fuel for their operation in this mode will be enough for 10 days, so it is necessary to repair and restore the communication lines of ZNPP with the power system.
The company also pointed out that plans to switch on power units amid shelling and due to damage to all lines are unrealistic.
