Russian forces shelled Nikopol District of Dnipropetrovsk Region in the evening, the head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional military administration, Valentyn Reznichenko, has said.
According to him, Russia hit the area with Grad and heavy artillery.
"A 37-year-old man was killed in the Chervonohryhorivka community, a 42-year-old man was wounded. He is in hospital," he said.
According to the head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional council, Mykola Lukashuk, two men born in 1950 and 1978 and a woman born in 1950 were injured.
"People received shrapnel wounds and mine-blast injuries. The citizens were provided with medical assistance, now they are at home. Tentatively, 35 buildings in the community were damaged, a car, a bus, power lines were also damaged," Lukashuk said.
He also added that the Russians hit Nikopol twice. Fortunately, there were no casualties. Only two residential buildings, two outbuildings and power lines were damaged.
"Five hundred households are without electricity. As soon as the threat of repeat shelling passes, emergency crews will start repairing the power grids," he added.
