Verkhovna Rada has voted in favor of the President's submission on the appointment of Andriy Pyshnyi as the head of the National Bank of Ukraine, the MP of the "Holos" faction Yaroslav Zheleznyak reported this to LB.ua.
290 deputies voted for the relevant resolution.
By factions and groups: "Sluha Narodu" - 212; "European Solidarity" - 0; "Batkivshchyna" - 13; "Platform for Life and Peace" - 17; "For the Future" - 6; "Voice (Holos)" - 5; "Trust (Dovira)" - 18; "Restoration of Ukraine" - 12; unaffiliated - 7.
Andriy Pyshnyy was at the session. The key points from the speech and his answers:
- We need money to cover the deficit (over $30 billion) and our international partners are ready to provide it. But we need the IMF for this.
- I consider the decisions on restrictions during the war completely adequate.
- The design of the domestic debt policy should be agreed upon with international partners.
- The NBU sees insufficient efficiency of monetary transmission.
- Regarding the sale of the NBU bonds, we will be dealing with it.
- I am not ready to predict the exchange rate now.
- I welcome the statement of the Ministry of Finance about the need to abandon the emission financing of the budget. But it depends on our international partners and their support.
- The discount rate of 25% is adequate and so far will remain this way.
- The exchange rate set by the NBU is perfectly adequate and corresponds to the current economic realities. The rate in the market is fluctuating due to psychological factors.
- Now (as of 7 October) our foreign exchange reserves are more than $ 24 billion. Over the last week, they have improved even since the beginning of October.
Andriy Pyshnyy has been the first deputy head of Oschadbank since 2003. In 2010 he worked on Arseniy Yatsenyuk's party project "Front of Changes". In the parliamentary elections of 2012, he was the deputy chief of the "Batkivshchyna" headquarters. Since 2013 - Deputy Chairman of the Batkivshchyna party, in March 2014 he became the Head of the Board of Oschadbank. He is a member of the Yermak-McFaul international sanctions group.
