Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has announced the allocation of humanitarian aid worth $400 million to Ukraine, the SPA news agency has reported following his telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, as quoted by Interfax-Ukraine.
"The Crown Prince highlighted the Kingdom's position to support everything that will contribute to de-escalation and the Kingdom's readiness to continue mediation efforts," SPA said.
Zelenskyy, in turn, congratulated the Crown Prince on his appointment as prime minister last month and thanked him for Riyadh's vote at the UN General Assembly along with 142 other countries for the resolution on the non-recognition of the pseudo-referendums in the Russian-occupied territories of Ukraine.
Ibn Salman stressed that the vote for the resolution stems from his commitment to the principles of the UN Charter and international law, as well as respect for state sovereignty and the principles of good neighborliness and peaceful resolution of conflicts.
In September, Saudi Arabia declared its readiness to mediate negotiations to end Russia's war against Ukraine.
