Thirty-four Russians were killed and three captured during the liberation of Nevske in Luhansk Region by Ukrainian troops, the Ukrainian Defence Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate has said.
"On 23 October, the Kedr group of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate with the participation of the 5th company of the 66th Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces liberated Nevske village in Luhansk Region. In the course of a lightning offensive operation, Ukrainian defenders defeated the superior forces of the occupiers," the directorate said.
According to it, the surviving Russians abandoned their armoured vehicles and retreated from the settlement.
Ukrainian troops got hold of a military KAMAZ lorry with ammunition, as well as two infantry fighting vehicles.
Unfortunately, Ukrainian scout Vladyslav Kravets was killed during the mission. He destroyed an enemy crew at the cost of his life.
