A new package of military assistance from Spain, including Hawk air defenсe systems, is on its way to Ukraineб Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has said at a briefing with his Spanish counterpart Jose Manuel Albares.
Kuleba added that other countries are now also looking for and preparing to transfer air defence systems to Ukraine.
"We have been working for a long time to ensure that Ukraine receives a new package of military assistance from Spain as soon as possible. And I am very glad that the new package is already on its way to Ukraine, and in the near future our state will strengthen its defence capabilities," he said.
The package includes a battery of the Aspide anti-aircraft missile system and missiles to it, four Hawk air defence systems, anti-tank missile systems, guns, ammunition and other military equipment.
Kuleba noted that Spain's decision to transfer the Hawk systems to Ukraine was a "signal" to other countries to start looking for such air defence systems in their arsenals and prepare them for transfer to Ukraine. Therefore, according to the foreign minister, "even more" of these systems will come to Ukraine.
Earlier it was reported that Spain would provide Ukraine with 30 ambulances and generators for power supply to hospitals.
