Spanish Defenсe Minister Margarita Robles said that her country will be able to train about 2,400 Ukrainian soldiers, EuroEFE reports.

The military exercises will take place within the framework of the European mission to train about 15,000 military personnel from Ukraine.

"Every two months we propose to train a total of 400 soldiers. I want to say that the offer, the capacity that we have, will be about 2400 soldiers a year in Spain," Robles said.

She added that if necessary, the number of soldiers can be increased.

The military academy in Toledo will be used for the exercises. The Minister of Defenсe intends to visit the institution this Sunday.

According to Robles, Spain is currently training 112 Ukrainian militaries.

"Nineteen have already trained in Zaragoza and returned to their country, and at the moment we have 21 in Almeria, 64 in Toledo and another five in Madrid," the defenсe minister said.

Robles stressed that she understands how important this European training mission is to help Ukraine.
