Participants in the Ukraine Defence Contact Group that met today have agreed to strengthen Ukraine's air defence.
In particular, Sweden will provide air defence systems, ammunition and other weapons worth $287 million. Artillery, ammunition and short-range air defence systems will be provided by Poland, the US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said after the meeting, Ukrinform reported.
Spain will provide HAWK anti-aircraft missile launchers and missiles, Canada will allocate $500 million in military aid, Germany will deliver artillery and ammunition for multiple launch rocket systems. Greece will send 155-mm ammunition.
The Group, also known as the Ramstein format, held its seventh meeting today online.
Opening it, Austin noted that "nations of goodwill will continue to support Ukraine as Russia continues to shell Ukrainian civilians and civilian infrastructure".
