National Security and Defence Council Secretary Oleksiy Danilov has told NV.ua that Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley's statement that Ukraine has lost 100,000 troops is not accurate.

"On our side, it is not quite true," he said.

On the other hand, Russia's losses of 100,000 dead and wounded correspond to reality, he added.

"You're looking at well over 100,000 Russian soldiers killed and wounded," Gen Milley said earlier. "Same thing probably on the Ukrainian side."

From 24 February to 16 November, Russia lost over 80,000 troops in the war against Ukraine, according to the Ukrainian General Staff. The number of the wounded has not been made public.
