The Ukrainian parliament has adopted a law on the termination of the agreement between the government of Ukraine and the government of the Republic of Belarus on the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of tax evasion with respect to income and property taxes.
LB.ua's correspondent reports that 304 MPs voted in favour.
"The law was developed by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in order to terminate the Ukrainian-Belarusian intergovernmental agreement on the avoidance of double taxation in connection with the support by the Republic of Belarus of the unprecedented, open, large-scale armed war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine," the accompanying note reads.
The adoption of the relevant law will allow Ukraine to cut economic and financial ties with Belarus faster.
The bilateral agreement on the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of tax evasion with respect to taxes on income and on property was concluded on 24 December 1993 in Ashgabat and ratified by the Ukrainian parliament on 20 December 1994.
