The Ukrainian Defence Ministry has confirmed the liberation of Makiyivka, Luhansk Region.
"The village of Makiyivka in Luhansk Region is under the control of Ukraine! Not a single surviving house, devastation and death are the consequences of the 'Russian world' that had reigned here for eight months," it said on Facebook.
Earlier, the liberation of Makiyivka village was reported by the head of the Luhansk regional military administration, Serhiy Hayday, but the Defence Ministry did not comment on the situation.
On 5 November, it became known that a battalion of mobilised Russians from Voronezh Region was destroyed near the village of Makiyivka, Svatove District, Luhansk Region, as a result of shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, hundreds of occupiers were killed.
