The Armed Forces of Ukraine are not yet on control of the Kinburn Spit in Mykolayiv Region. the head of the joint press centre of the Defence Forces in the Tavriya sector, Yevhen Yerin, has said on the telethon, Radio Liberty reports.
"The enemy is currently regrouping there. The situation on the Kinburn Spit is under control. So far (at the moment) there is no talk of control over the Kinburn Spit by the Armed Forces of Ukraine," he said.
Commenting on the overall situation on the southern front, Yeryn noted that with the help of constant shelling of Kherson the Russian army is trying to "sow fear and panic among the civilian population" and "keep Ukrainian troops in good shape".
"The enemy continues to equip its positions in engineering terms, preparing for defenсe," he concluded.
According to the head of the Mykolaiv regional military administration, Vitaliy Kim, the involvement of the Mykolayiv port in the implementation of the "grain deal" will be possible only after the liberation of the Kinburn Spit.
Earlier, the Operational Command South said the military operation on the Kinburn Spit continues. This military operation requires information silence.
