Tomorrow there will be a power deficit in the power system of Ukraine due to an increase in electricity consumption due to lower temperatures, the board chairman of the national energy company Ukrenergo, Volodymyr Kudrytskyy, has said on the air of the telethon.

"Basically, this is a factor of ambient temperature. I want to say that it will be cold tomorrow, on Monday, as we know from weather forecasts, so today and tomorrow the deficit will be significant. Especially tomorrow, because it will be a working day, in addition, quite severe frosts are expected," Kudrytskyy explained.

However, according to the forecast, the temperature will rise, so Ukrenergo expects the electricity deficit to decrease. In addition, the system will recover from the latest shelling.

According to Kudrytskyy, power generating units have already resumed operation at all nuclear power plants located on the government-controlled territory of the country. However, there are still some limitations on the networks that cannot deliver a certain part of their capacity.

"In a few days, these restrictions should be reduced. After [Russia] fired more than 70 missiles, what we have today is a very decent result. I will not name the figure, but we have recovered quite well this time," he noted.

As of 18 December, the process of restoring the power system continues, but weather conditions complicate the repair of power grids.
