The Russian army will continue to advance at the front despite the fact that this has negative consequences for them, the secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine, Oleksiy Danilov, has said in an interview with the Voice of America.

According to him, the Russians "put everything on the line".

"Russia is not able to defeat Ukraine in open battle. They are now driven into a dead end. And a rat that is driven into a dead end is the most dangerous. And we are preparing very actively for the next month or two or three, which may be decisive at this point. They will keep coming because they put everything on the line," Danilov said.

Ukraine is preparing for an enemy offensive because it has information and reacts to it, Danilov said. Arms from allies will help the Armed Forces to repel the Russian offensive.

"And I want to say that the assistance that was in March, April and May is a completely different assistance than we are receiving today," he added.

According to Danilov, the Russian leadership is considering the announcement of general mobilization in the country and may close the borders for men under 65 years of age.

Earlier, Maj-Gen Andriy Kovalchuk, the commander of the Joint Task Force South, spoke about general mobilization in Russia and Putin's offensive plans.
