The Federal Government of Austria has extended the temporary protection for internally displaced persons from Ukraine and the right to legally stay in the country until 4 March 2024, Ukrinform reports with reference to the resolution adopted by the Austrian Council of Ministers.
The document amends the resolution of the Austrian Federal Government of 11 March this year on the temporary residence permit for displaced persons from Ukraine.
"The temporary residence permit is valid until 4 March 2024," the adopted document reads.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Austria, more than 90 thousand Ukrainians are currently registered in the country. About 56 thousand of them are presently on basic support.
In recent months, about 87 thousand citizens have evacuated from the dangerous regions of Ukraine. Evacuation from the liberated territories continues.
