Today, 21 December, the situation with electricity supply in Kyiv is the most difficult in the country. There are no changes for the better now, the energy company Yasno CEO Serhiy Kovalenko has said.
"There are neighbourhoods which get about 5 hours a day. There are some that have power for 2-3 hours a day. And there are some which have not had power at all since the last shelling," he said.
Kovalenko stressed that Kyiv cannot receive power from the country's energy system due to damage to high-voltage equipment.
He noted that the key problem in Kyiv is not generation, but networks, as 60% of transformers are out.
