Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has urged the international community to expel Russia from the UN Security Council after today's massive missile attack on various locations across Ukraine.
"This time, Russia's mass missile attack is deliberately targeting residential areas, not even our energy infrastructure. War criminal Putin 'celebrates' New Year by killing people. Russia must be kicked out of its UN Security Council seat which it has always occupied illegally," he tweeted.
On the afternoon of 31 December, Russia carried out a massive missile attack on Ukraine, pummeling Kyiv, Mykolayiv, Khmelnytskyy and other cities. In Kyiv, one person was killed and 20 were injured as a result of the attack.
Ukrainian troops downed 12 out of over 20 Russian missiles.
