Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Gen Valeriy Zaluzhnyy has congratulated Ukrainians on the upcoming holidays on social networks.
"We did not choose war. But we accepted the battle. And God himself is on our side. We and our families are facing hard challenges, pain and suffering. This Christmas has the taste of tears and the colour of blood. However, we have enough strength to overcome the enemy," Zaluzhnyy said.
He wished that the victory would be "the beginning of Ukraine's prosperity and the end for Russia".
"To all those who are in the ranks, who are now holding our positions. Relatives and friends of our defenders. Everyone who prays, believes, helps the Armed Forces. Happy New Year and Merry Christmas to all who oppose the world evil together with us!" Zaluzhnyy said.
