During the day, Russia carried out 16 air strikes, 15 of which against civil infrastructure, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has said on Facebook.

Russia launched eight Shahed drones, all of which were shot down. They also carried out 17 attacks from multiple rocket launchers. Civilians were killed by artillery shelling of settlements.

The General Staff added that Russians continue to conduct offensive actions in the Lyman and Bakhmut directions and are trying to improve their tactical situation in the Kupyansk and Avdiyivka directions.

In the early hours of 30 December, the Russian military attacked the territory of Ukraine with Iranian-made Shahed-131/136 kamikaze drones. In total, 16 Shaheds were launched from the south-eastern and northern directions. The enemy tried to use the Dnipro riverbed to overcome the air defence system of Ukraine.

Russian military also shelled the town of Semenivka in Chernihiv Region, killing one person.
