The Ukrainian military shot down 12 of more than 20 missiles launched by the Russians on 31 December, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhnyy has said.
"Today, the terrorist state of the Russian Federation again launched a massive missile strike on civilian facilities in our country. Previously, the enemy launched more than 20 air-launched cruise missiles using Tu-95MS strategic bombers from the Caspian Sea and land-based missile systems," he specified.
According to him, Ukraine's air defence destroyed 12 cruise missiles: six in Kyiv Region, five Zhytomyr Region and one in Khmelnytskyy Region.
