The 31 December Russian attack targeted the civil infrastructure of Ukraine, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has said.

"Terrorists. Attacks on civilian infrastructure in different regions of our country. Residential buildings, a hotel, a shop, festive venues were damaged. There are dead and wounded. Russians want to intimidate, to leave us in the dark for the New Year, to cause as much damage to civil infrastructure as possible," he said.

According to him, despite this, the country's energy system remains stable. All services are working to eliminate the consequences of the attacks.

In addition, he noted that the air defence forces are heroes and a real shield of the Ukrainian sky. And Russia and its terrorist troops will be punished for every missile.

On the afternoon of 31 December, Russians conducted a massive missile attack on Ukraine. Kyiv, Mykolayiv, Khmelnytskyy and other cities were attacked. In particular, as a result of the Russian attack on Kyiv, one person was killed and 20 injured.
