Hostilities continue in the city of Soledar, Donetsk Region, Deputy Defence Minister Hanna Malyar has said.
"Heavy battles for the retention of Soledar continue. The enemy does not pay attention to the heavy losses of its personnel and continues to actively assault. The approaches to our positions are littered with the bodies of fallen enemy soldiers," Malyar said.
According to her, Ukrainian soldiers are bravely holding the defence.
Heavy fighting continues near Soledar, Ukrainian soldiers are trying to exhaust the Russians as much as possible.
Over the past day Russia struck 86 times at the city from various types of artillery.
