Ukraine will not be able to cope with Iranian ballistic missiles Fateh and Zolfaghar if the Russian army receives them, the spokesman for the Air Force Command Yuriy Ihnat said during a telethon, Radio Liberty reports.
"Russia has not abandoned its intention to receive kamikaze drones and missiles from Iran, which were announced earlier, Fateh and Zolfaghar, these are ballistic missiles, and we have no means against ballistics today. But Russia has ballistic missiles in the form of Kinzhal missiles... Also X-22 missiles, and S-300 and S-400 missiles - anti-aircraft missiles that hit along a ballistic trajectory," the spokesman said.
However, according to him, Ukraine's allies understand these challenges.
"Our partners understand that ballistic missile defenсe requires tools such as Patriot PAC-3 and SAMP-T. We see progress: Italy and France have declared their readiness to transfer these systems as well," Ihnat emphasized.
In December, Kirill Budanov, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defenсe Ministry, told The New York Times that Iran had so far refused to support the Russian Federation with ballistic missile supplies, although negotiations were underway.
