Zelenskyy strips some top Yanukovych officials of citizenship

Ukrainian media report that a number of former top officials are to be deprived of Ukrainian citizenship, including: former head of the Yanukovych presidential administration, Andriy Klyuyev; former Interior Minister Vitaliy Zakharchenko; former Education Minister Dmytro Tabachnyk; former Minister of Revenue and Duties Oleksandr Klymenko; and former head of the Security Service of Ukraine Oleksandr Yakymenko.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has taken action with regard to individuals who were found to have Russian citizenship.

"Today, I signed the relevant documents to take another step to protect and cleanse our country from those who have sided with the aggressor. There are submissions from the Security Service regarding persons who have been identified as having Russian citizenship," the president said in his evening address.

He noted that tomorrow another legal step would be taken to enact the NSDC sanctions.

He also said that work is underway to synchronize the sanctions with partner jurisdictions. The president emphasized that the enemies of the free world have no right to use the free world for their own interests.

According to Babel's sources, a number of former top officials are to be deprived of Ukrainian citizenship, including

former head of the Yanukovych presidential administration, Andriy Klyuyev;

former Interior Minister Vitaliy Zakharchenko;

former Minister of Education Dmytro Tabachnyk;

former Minister of Revenues and Duties Oleksandr Klymenko;

former head of the Security Service of Ukraine Oleksandr Yakymenko.
