About 4,500 civilians, including 48 children, remain in Bakhmut, Donetsk Region, said Tatyana Ihnatchenko, the spokeswoman for the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, CNN reports.
"About 4,500 civilians remain in Bakhmut. Including 48 children who cannot be evacuated because they live in places that are no longer accessible," she said.
The official noted that these people have enough food and medicine.
"There is food, medicine. People were provided with everything in advance," Ihnatchenko said.
At the same time, she believes that "the situation is extremely dangerous for civilians" and urges people to evacuate.
According to the General Staff, the enemy continues to conduct an offensive in the Bakhmut area.
