No personnel changes are planned in the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in the near future, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has said, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

"No personnel changes are planned in the government in the near future... In the near future, I mean in the coming weeks, we'll see what happens later," Shmyhal said at the annual news conference on government performance.

He noted though that, as in previous periods, personnel changes would continue, and added that it would be a "natural process."

"We have a vision of how the Cabinet of Ministers should develop, how the Cabinet should modernize, responding to the challenges, including the upcoming recovery," Shmyhal added.

He noted that the optimal number of ministries for a country like Ukraine in peacetime is 15-16, perhaps even slightly fewer.

He pointed out that during the war it is difficult to make a "radical revolution" in the government structure, but the reform will be carried out in an evolutionary way.
