From 28 February to 1 March, unprepared conscripts from Irkutsk Region, as part of the 1439th Regiment of the first and second battalions, were sent to storm the Avdiyivka fortification near Donetsk. Today, relatives of two of the mobilized men reported that the entire regiment was almost destroyed - several people were wounded, the rest were killed but are considered missing, Radio Liberty reports.
"I got a call from my husband - he got a shrapnel wound and is in a hospital. He says there is nothing left of the regiment. Only two wounded are known so far, the rest are either dead or left there in a difficult condition. He will be given only a week! Then they will throw him back to the front line!" says the wife of the mobilized man.
Irkutsk officials have now travelled to the occupied part of Donetsk Region, where the mobilized complained about the command. They intend to "establish communication" with the regiment based in the "DPR" and deliver "humanitarian aid" to the soldiers.
On 27 February, the mobilized soldiers made their third appeal to Vladimir Putin complaining about the actions of the command of the so-called "DPR". According to the soldiers, who are under the command of the Slavic Brigade, they are sent to assault without intelligence, communication and artillery support, and, if they complain that the mobilized "have no way to comply with the order," they are threatened with prosecution for desertion.
At the same time, the mobilized have no military training. They are mostly construction workers, drivers, and managers. Many of them are over 40 years old with chronic illnesses.
Over the past day, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 765 occupiers, 8 tanks, an enemy aircraft and a helicopter.
