The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (GUR) has announced the release of Ukrainian citizens from captivity in Syria, the ministry's press service said.
"Employees of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine conducted an operation to liberate from captivity and evacuate Ukrainian citizens who were held in terrible conditions in Syria. Military intelligence officers returned home two Ukrainian women and six children - last night they crossed the state border," the statement said.
The statement notes that even in the context of Russia's aggressive war, Ukraine does not forget about its citizens in trouble and will come to the rescue anywhere in the world.4
A few days ago, the Syrian president flew to Moscow to meet with Putin. They were going to talk about cooperation.
