Education and Science Minister Serhiy Shkarlet is stepping down, sources in the Servant of the People party have confirmed to LB.ua.
"We long wanted, even before 24 February. He is not coping," one of the sources said.
The director of the Small Academy of Sciences, volunteer Oksen Lisovyy, is expected to head the Education and Science Ministry.
Sources told LB.ua that the "entire healthy part of parliament is for his appointment".
Students of the National University Kyiv Mohyla Academy, as well as other universities and NGOs, long demanded his dismissal.
