As of December 2022, 480-520 thousand Ukrainian children were abroad. Most schoolchildren simultaneously study at school at the place of temporary residence and in a Ukrainian educational institution, Minister of Education of Ukraine Serhiy Shkarlet said during the telethon.
"At the beginning of the armed aggression, there were 650-690 thousand Ukrainian children aged 0-18, i.e. preschool and school age, as of September 1 - 488 thousand, as of December - 480-520 thousand children. Today, about 500 thousand school-age children studying in general secondary education institutions are abroad," the Minister of Education informed.
At the same time, most students try to combine studying in schools at temporary residence places and distance learning in Ukrainian schools.
