Russian troops continue to conduct offensive actions in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiyivka, Maryinka and Shakhtarske sectors. The fiercest fighting is taking place for Bakhmut and in the Avdiyivka sector, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said in an evening update on 21 March.

In the Bakhmut sector, Russian troops continue to conduct offensive actions, but are losing their offensive potential. They do not stop trying to capture the city, losing a significant amount of manpower, weapons and military equipment. Ukrainian defenders are repelling numerous attacks around the clock in the areas of Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Hryhorivka and in the northern part of Bakhmut.

In the Avdiyivka, Maryinka and Shakhtarske sectors, Russian troops carried out offensive actions in the areas of Novobakhmutivka, Krasnohorivka, Avdiyivka, Syeverne, Pervomayske, Maryinka and Pobyeda to no avail.

Russian troops are on the defensive in the Zaporizhzhya and Kherson sectors.

Russian troops launched four missile strikes and 24 air strikes over the last day, and fired more than 30 times from multiple launch rocket systems.
