Russia launches 21 Shahed drones at Ukrainians overnight, 16 of them shot down - General Staff

Over the past day, the occupiers carried out 10 missile and 32 air strikes, as well as 90 attacks from multiple launch rocket systems, including against civilian targets.

The 392nd day of Russia’s large-scale invasion has begun. The Russian Federation continues its armed aggression against Ukraine and does not abandon its intentions to fully occupy Donetsk and Luhansk regions. It is conducting offensive operations in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiyivka, Maryinka and Shakhtarsk sectors, and defending in other areas.

Over the past day, the Defence Forces repelled 114 enemy attacks in the eastern part of the frontline, the General Staff of the Armed Forces reported on Facebook.

The Russian aggressor continues to ignore the laws and customs of war, shelling settlements and critical infrastructure.

On 21 March, the occupiers launched 10 missile, 32 air strikes, as well as 90 MLRS attacks, including at civilian targets.

The threat of attacks across Ukraine remains. Thus, on the night of 22 March, the adversary launched another massive air strike with Shahed-136 UAVs. According to preliminary information, 16 out of 21 drones launched by the enemy were destroyed by Ukrainian defenders.

Volyn, Polissya, Siversk, and Slobozhansk areas: no significant changes in the operational situation, no formation of offensive groups of the adversary were found. The top leadership of the Republic of Belarus continues to support the armed aggression of the Russian Federation, provide its infrastructure for training of the enemy units. The enemy maintains its military presence in the border areas. During the day of 21 March, the invaders shelled the vicinities of settlements of Khrinivka, Mykhalchyna Sloboda (Chernihiv Region), Atynske, Iskryskivshchyna, Volfyne, Pavlivka, Basivka, Yunakivka, Popivka (Sumy Region), Basove, Kozacha Lopan, Strilecha, Hlyboke, Vovchansk, and Velykyy Burluk (Kharkiv Region).

Kupyansk and Lyman areas: the adversary continues its attempts to break through the Ukrainian defence. The enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the vicinities of the settlements of Kreminna, Dibrova, Bilohorivka, and Vesele. The invaders fired artillery at the vicinities of settlements of Krasne Pershe, Dvorichna, Masyutivka, Kupyansk, Krokhmalne, Berestove (Kharkiv Region), Novoselivske, Nevske, Bilohorivka (Luhansk), Torske, Spirne, and Fedorivka (Donetsk Region).

Bakhmut area: the enemy continues to conduct offensive operations, suffering major casualties, and losing a significant amount of weapons and military equipment. Ukrainian defenders are repelling numerous round-the-clock attacks of the adversary in the vicinities of settlements of Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Hryhorivka, Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Bakhmut, Klishchiyivka, and Mayorsk. Vasyukivka, Zaliznyanske, Minkivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Hryhorivka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Stupochky, Predtechyne, Chasiv Yar, Kurdyumivka, Ozarianivka, and Pivnichne (Donetsk Region), among others, came under enemy fire.

Avdiyivka, Marinka, and Shakhtarske areas: the adversary conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the vicinities of settlements of Novobakhmutivka, Novokalynove, Krasnohorivka, Stepove, Berdychi, Avdiyivka, Sjeverne, Vodyane, Pervomayske, Marinka, and Pobeda. Almost 20 unsuccessful offensive attempts were made by the enemy in the vicinity of Marinka. Lastochkyne, Berdychi, Orlivka, Avdiyivka, Tonenke, Heorhiyivka, Nevelske, Krasnohorivka, Marinka, and Vuhledar (Donetsk Region) came under enemy fire.

Zaporizhzhya and Kherson areas: the adversary is defending. The vicinities of settlements of Novopil (Donetsk Region), Olhivske, Malynivka, Chervone, Charivne, Hulyaypole, Mala Tokmachka, Novodanylivka, Novoandriyivka, Kamyanske (Zaporizhzhya Region), Kherson, Beryslav, Ponyativka, Darivka, and Antonivka (Kherson Region) came under fire.

During the day of March 21, the Ukrainian Air Force launched 6 air strikes on the occupiers’ concentrations. At the same time, Ukrainian defenders shot down 15 enemy UAVs of various types, as well as 2 Kh-59 guided aircraft missiles.

Missile and artillery units hit 1 ammunition depot, 2 anti-aircraft missile systems, 1 radar station, and 1 other important enemy target.
