Over the past day, the enemy launched 18 air and 3 missile strikes, fired 50 rocket attacks from multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of our troops and civilian infrastructure of settlements, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports on Facebook on the morning of the 399th day of the large-scale Russian invasion.
There is a high probability of further missile and air strikes across Ukraine, as Russia continues to ignore the laws and customs of war, and continues to use terror tactics against the civilian population. Russian missile strike on the infrastructure of the town of Bohodukhiv (Kharkiv Region) on 28th March 2023 resulted in casualties among the civilian population and damage to private houses.
The enemy concentrates its main efforts on further offensives in Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiyivka and Maryinka areas. Bilohorivka, Bakhmut, Avdiyivka, Maryinka and their surroundings remain at the epicentre of hostilities. Thanks to professional and coordinated actions Ukrainian Defence Forces repelled 57 enemy attacks on the indicated areas during the past day.
Volyn, Polissya, Siversk, and Slobozhansk areas: the operational situation has not changed significantly, and there were no signs of the formation of enemy offensive groupings reported. Russian militaries continue their combat training at the training grounds in the Republic of Belarus. Russia maintains a military presence in the border areas of its Kursk and Belgorod Regions. During the past day, the enemy shelled the vicinities of Kucherivka, Bilopylla, and Volfyne (Sumy Region); Timofiyivka, Chervona Zorya, Veterynarne, Strilecha, Hlyboke, Krasne, Starytsya, Ohirtseve, Komisarov, Ustynivka, Vilkhuvatka, and Stroyivka (Kharkiv Region).
Kupyansk and Lyman areas: during the past day, the enemy attempted unsuccessful offensives in the vicinities of Krokhmalne, Novoselivske, Stelmakhivka, Bilohorivka, Verkhnyokamyanske, and Berestov settlements. The vicinities of Kamyanka, Krasne Pershe, Fiholivka, Novomlynsk, Kutkivka, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Vilshana, Kislivka, and Berestov (Kharkiv Region); Novoselivske, Nevske, Kuzmyne, Dibrova, and Bilohorivka (Luhansk Region), as well as Spirne (Donetsk Region), were subjects to artillery fire.
Bakhmut area: the enemy makes further attempts to seize Bakhmut. However, our defenders courageously hold the town, while repelling numerous enemy attacks. During the past day, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the vicinities of Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Predtechine, and Ozaryanivka settlements (Donetsk Region). Russian forces shelled Vasyukivka, Minkivka, Orihovo-Vasylivka, Novomarkove, Khromove, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Chasiv Yar, Kurdyumivka, Ozaryanivka, Druzhba, Shumy, and Mayorsk.
Avdiyivka and Maryinka areas: the enemy attempted to advance towards Novokalynove, Krasnohorivka, Stepove, Pervomayske, and Maryinka. However, all attempts have failed. Russian artillery shelled the vicinities of Novokalynove, Krasnohorivka, Hostre, Heorhiyivka, Stepove, Lastochkine, Avdiyivka, Tonenke, Pervomayske, Maryinka, Pobeda, Paraskoviyivka, and Novomykhaylivka (Donetsk Region).
Shakhtarske area: during the past day, the enemy shelled the vicinities of Vuhledar, Zolota Nyva, Velyka Novosilka, and Vremivka settlements (Donetsk Region).
Zaporizhzhya and Kherson areas: the enemy stays on the defensive. Russian forces shelled Novosilka and Novopil (Donetsk Region); Hulyaypole, Bilohirya, Mala Tokmachka, Novodanilivka, and Novoandriyivka (Zaporizhzhya Region); Antonivka and the city of Kherson.
Russia continues to cynically use the medical facilities of the temporarily occupied territories for their own purposes. Thus, Bilovodsk town hospital (Luhansk Region) has been converted into a military hospital with 200 beds, that provides treatment to Russian occupiers with minor injuries. Meanwhile, the local population is denied access to medical facilities.
Recently, there has been a tendency for the Russian invaders to refuse to follow the orders of their commanders. So, on 23 March of this year, due to refusing to perform a combat mission, about 70 people from the units of the Nevsky and Veterans volunteer formations were disarmed and taken to Makiyivka, Donetsk Region. A similar incident occurred on 25 March, when the personnel of the enemy's reconnaissance company operating on the Avdiyivka area refused to carry out the order.
Over the past day, Ukrainian Air Force attacked 5 concentrations of Russian troops and military equipment. At the same time, our defenders shot down 1 Orlan-10 and 1 ZALA UAVs.
Ukrainian missile and artillery troops hit 1 command post, 6 concentrations of enemy troops, weapons and military equipment, 1 anti-aircraft missile complex, and 1 ammunition depot.
